One of the main reasons diets generally don’t work — and people avoid them at all costs — is that they force you to cut off food that you probably love. So, before you throw everything out in your cupboard, try these small changes in diet.
Don’t fear fat.
Of course, there are many fat- loaded foods, such as those containing saturated and trans fats, which are terrible for you . But ” good fats” like omega-3s, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats also exist. Avocados, walnuts, olive oil, salmon, tuna, dark chocolate and flaxseed are the foods that contain these good fats. Try to add these foods to your diet and you will see some changes.
Exercise portion control.
Unless you take time to peek at the nutrition labels on the foods that you eat, you probably aren’t aware of the recommended portion size for that particular food. Remember, you don’t have to eat every last bite of food on your plate. Put half of your meal in a to- go container before you eat. Take your leftovers home and enjoy your meal the nex<center>t day.
Eat the colors of the rainbow.
The hue of a fruit or vegetable is often determined by the types of nutrients it contains and it is therefore important to include a variety. This helps ensure that you eat a comprehensive diet.
Boost your protein intake.
Most Americans receive more than their fair share of protein, but if you constantly dieting, you may not be able to satisfy the needs of your body. Protein is an important part of each cell in your body. Most of the hair and nails are made of protein. Your body uses protein to create tissue and repair it. You also use protein to make enzymes, hormones and other chemical substances in your body.
When you rush out in the morning, something to eat can easily be forgotten. But for a reason, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast gives people the nutrients they need and evens blood sugar so that they are less likely to binge on dense calorie junk later in the day.
Water is obviously important not only for survival, but properly hydrated helps prevent unnecessary snacks.
Swap your snack for something healthier.
This may sound simple, but small changes in diet, such as replacing a bag of chips with a piece of fruit or an ounce of cheese, adds us.
Replace emotional snacking with a fun activity.
If you tend to eat if you feel sad, lonely or stressed, you may emotionally eating. This trend can lead to weight gain very quickly, as your body does not need energy in calories. Going out for a walk, taking a warm, relaxing bath or reading a book are all excellent ways to relieve stress and sorrow without turning to food.

Instead of drinking a Frappe why don’t you try a cup of green tea.
You do not have to undergo massive changes in your diet to lose weight. In fact, it is often much easier than we think to shed unnecessary and unhealthy calories with only a few minor dietary changes throughout the day.
